With my knuckles back on the Pathmaker Rig it was time to shift from “need to” projects to a few “want to” projects. The PSC Full Hydro steering on my rig has been working great for me, except that my pump likes to get nice and hot and whine after some hard use.
Happy New Years everyone…2018 was a great year for trail wheeling. With many back country trips as well as trips to my favourite OHV Park, Frogstompers and even a trip for some Competition wheeling with the Back Door Fab team down to Washington State.
Of course season of wheeling leads to some epic video as well as a ton of fantastic photos. Continue reading →
It was finally time to get around to installing the windshield that I pulled out of the Project Cheapfinder in a previous BLOG POST and toss it into the Pathmaker rig. Never having done it before this was going to be an interesting learning experience for me. My good friend Rich owns a glass shop in Kamloops BC Family Glass and he gave me a few pointers on what I should do. Of course I completely forgot everything he said right away so any screw ups are definitely my fault! Continue reading →
After snapping my knuckle in half during my last wheeling trip. Getting a spare one brought out to me by my buddy Jon and limping my rig home. Back in the shop I pulled the front axle apart and noticed that of course the drivers side knuckle had some huge cracks in it. Looks like I was very close to breaking a second time on one trip! My rusty old fenders decided that they had had enough, finally crumpling, pushing into the sidewalls of two of my brand new trailer tires, (literally first tow) which in turn destroyed the sidewalls of the tires and prompted a trailer fender rebuild.
My rig is fat, real fat. It doesn’t fit between the wheel wells of my trailer. Which means that every time I load my rig I have to drive one tire up and over the fenders. I get to choose the side but I’ve got to pick one. Over the years that has crushed my rusty old fenders. So it was time to cut the old fenders off, grab a few sticks of pipe and bend up a few bars. Then I can drive over the bars which will take the weight a lot better, plus if I’m smart I’ll be able to reuse the old steel from the old fenders because I’m cheap and buying new metal is expensive! Went out wheeling on the day before my Birthday with a couple of buddies on a day I’ve now termed “Traction Day.” Traction might be something you have where you wheel but it’s not something we have very often around here. Continue reading →

In the last post I was working on wiring up my new ammo can but was waiting on some rocklights to show up in the mail. After a long slow boat from China Continue reading →
The Pathmaker is still broken and awaiting a new dana 300 so I decided to get down to some lingering projects. Continue reading →
So after breaking the Pathmaker a few weeks ago while out wheeling (See here for the post) and working on sourcing a new dana 300 I’ve had a bit of down time in the shop to work on a few assorted projects Continue reading →
I had the Nissan Pathmaker out at the Frogstompers Funday Toydrive in Dec 2017 and decided I should do an updated blog post just to go over where my rig sits now, as compare to my last blog post and first shakedown run which took place in 2012. I figured I’d film the origin story and then go over some of the parts on the rig. Nissan Pathmaker One Ton SAS WD21 Build Walk Around, while you get to come for a ride around our local OHV park trails.
