With all the weather networks calling for a Pineapple Express and 3-5 inches of rain we decided it was a great time to get out for some rock crawling! The Pathmaker Rig was back in the shop with turning left problems, so I climbed back in with Sean in his Mercedes OM617 Diesel powered Toyota buggy and we headed out with the Suzuki Samurai buggies and Jim in his Toyota buggy for an epic day of trail wheeling and barbecuing. New Trails at Pathmaker Heights Round 2
With the rain pouring down and all the boys busy I hopped into the Pathmaker rig with Mrs. Pathmaker and we headed to the Heights to cut some more new trails on the property. With the plan for a casual day of wheeling quickly going sideways it turned into the usual sort of show, some winching, some redline and a lot of fun out in the yard!

Snow Day Rescue
Snow Day Trail Wheelin Rescue Mission
After having to leave Mikes big block Ford buggy in the woods for a few nights it was time to get out and drag that fat girl home. This time with Jon in his oneton Toyota buggy with some modified skidder chains and Mike in his Toyota diffed Suzuki buggy. With two 33″ tires strapped to Mikes rig, a bunch of extra straps, batteries, hand tools we headed back up the trail. Only a few days had gone by but it was a completely different trail. Most of the snow was gone and the few inches that were left were soft.
Snow Day Trail Wheeling
Snow Day Wheeling
Even tho we live in Canada, we live in the warm and wet side of the country so we don’t get a ton of snow in the winter. With a fresh dump of over a foot and a ton of unprepared people the town practically shuts down. So it was a great excuse to do some mid-week, Snow Day Trail Wheelin!
2018 Trail Wheeling Highlights
2018
Happy New Years everyone…2018 was a great year for trail wheeling. With many back country trips as well as trips to my favourite OHV Park, Frogstompers and even a trip for some Competition wheeling with the Back Door Fab team down to Washington State.
Of course season of wheeling leads to some epic video as well as a ton of fantastic photos. Continue reading →
Dana 60 Knuckle Gusset Install – Pathmaker Speed Shop
Dana 60 Kingpin Knuckle Gusset Weld On Kit
After snapping my knuckle in half during my last wheeling trip. Getting a spare one brought out to me by my buddy Jon and limping my rig home. Back in the shop I pulled the front axle apart and noticed that of course the drivers side knuckle had some huge cracks in it. Looks like I was very close to breaking a second time on one trip! Trailer Pipe Fender Scabrication – Pathmaker Speed Shop
Custom Trailer Pipe Fenders
My rusty old fenders decided that they had had enough, finally crumpling, pushing into the sidewalls of two of my brand new trailer tires, (literally first tow) which in turn destroyed the sidewalls of the tires and prompted a trailer fender rebuild.
My rig is fat, real fat. It doesn’t fit between the wheel wells of my trailer. Which means that every time I load my rig I have to drive one tire up and over the fenders. I get to choose the side but I’ve got to pick one. Over the years that has crushed my rusty old fenders. So it was time to cut the old fenders off, grab a few sticks of pipe and bend up a few bars. Then I can drive over the bars which will take the weight a lot better, plus if I’m smart I’ll be able to reuse the old steel from the old fenders because I’m cheap and buying new metal is expensive!
